In a world where dreams often feel distant, Prisca Santillan's story shines as a beacon of inspiration, especially for women who aspire to make a positive impact. As a Senior Manager in Segment Marketing at Globe, she shares her heartfelt journey from curiosity to leadership in the dynamic world of telecommunications.

Globe for me is my dream job and company. This company has been one of my long-standing dream roles because I've always been curious about what marketing people do in the Telco business, primarily because they sell intangible products – something that you can't touch, something that you can't feel, but really resonate to a lot of people because they need it. So, I guess that's why it's my dream job.
My favorite thing about being a Ka-Globe was that I was able to be mentored by marketing leaders who grew the telco industry in the Philippines. I was privileged to have worked with and be mentored by segment heads, brand professionals, and marketing experts. This experience exposed me to various cross-functional teams beyond my role.

I learned how to analyze and work with a lot of data because, in telco, you must work with numbers and crunch data extensively. I was also able to collaborate with many young, brilliant minds, who have honed my soft skills in managing challenges and overcoming them as a team.

Through the Globe University programs, I was fortunate to participate in SOUL Leadership and Everyday Leadership. Not everyone knows how to lead, so when I was entrusted with leadership responsibilities, I initially felt nervous and in many ways, felt the lack of experience because I was new to it.. These programs helped me ensure I was doing most things right while polishing many aspects. They taught me to be more forgiving of myself, recognizing that I was a work in progress alongside my team.
My favorite thing about being a Ka-Globe was that I was able to be mentored by marketing leaders who grew the telco industry in the Philippines.
Before joining Globe, I worked in marketing at a bank, handling various projects that contributed to launching new digital banking products and sustaining growth for deposits and loans. As a one-woman team, I was supported by a village from different departments. Then, I entered Globe as an individual contributor, where I learned how to be a leader. This role allowed me to teach and mentor my peers while still learning from others. It ultimately helped me grow, step up the career ladder, manage my own team, and guide my colleagues.

I like that the leaders in Globe never boxed me and are open to new ideas that actually challenge the norm. I like that they embrace that kind of mindset, especially for young people like me to really unleash and immerse ourselves in the work-life culture.
The belief my leaders and teammates had in me taught me that I could break boundaries and push further.
In my five years at Globe, I have had the best support and opportunities to launch inaugural programs that have won several accolades, including After 5 Game Night, Whiskey Business, Mindhive, Cyberheist, Project 5-Star, and Brain Break. These programs became noteworthy because they stemmed from customer needs balanced with feedback from the sales team. Not only were these initiatives unique and differentiated in the market, but they also addressed real customer pain points that contributed to business revenue.

In Globe, creating everyday possibilities is something that I look forward to every single day I wake up, primarily because I, as a person, am someone who wants to learn something new every day. I like that I can explore new things.
My personal tagline actually is "beat my yesterday." This resonates with me because I can always become a better version of myself the following day, in the next few months, or the following years. It helps me be more competitive as a person and somehow share that enthusiasm and grit with my colleagues or anyone around me.

Quite frankly, I've learned that I can really go beyond what I can do. At times, I doubt my capabilities and feel that I can’t do something I do not know. It's very challenging, but ultimately, the following day, marerealize ko na oh, nagawa ko siya, kaya ko pala siya. The belief my leaders and teammates had in me taught me that I could break boundaries and push further.

I love working with the B2B marketing team and collaborating with various teams. What makes me thrive in Globe is the collaborative teamwork energy that we have, where everyone can bring something unique to the table.
I actually look forward to retiring in Globe because we have embraced a culture of work-life integration wherein it seamlessly blends.
Apart from everyone being super talented, we’ve created a psychologically safe environment. This is a safe space to be yourself, speak your mind, and bring ideas to the table. Especially with my previous mentors like Raymond Policarpio, Janis Racpan, my current Immediate Supervisor Anne David and Sir Jonti Cristobal. I have always felt that I am supported, heard, and mentored well.

I actually look forward to retiring in Globe because we have embraced a culture of work-life integration wherein it seamlessly blends. Hindi siya pilit basically; you don't have to be at the office physically to do your job. Since day 1, leaders and colleagues outside marketing have this unspoken respect for time after work. I am blessed to have this boundary because I get to focus on myself, my husband, and my cats. 🙂 I am able to train for a marathon, enjoy my hobbies and hang out with friends.

While we are competitive in the industry, the leaders in Globe are very friendly, approachable, and like a family because you grow with them.
You grow with your mentors and peers, who feel like brothers and sisters and always have your back. Building lasting friendships and cherishing the mentorship I receive keeps me motivated. Work will always be work, but what keeps me going are the people and teams that I work with. Whether it is within marketing, my favorite sales teams, business solutions teams, and others, they will always be the people that will excite me everyday to create everyday possibilities.

If you are a marketer like me and are eager to learn from those who have shaped the telecommunications industry, I encourage you to join Globe because you will find invaluable experiences waiting for you. Follow us on LinkedIn.
