From humble beginnings as a vendor employee to leading transformative initiatives in B2B, the story of Roma, an Organizational Development and Change Senior Manager, highlights the importance of mentorship, empathy, and a customer-centric approach. As a woman leader in her group, discover how Roma's passion for helping others navigate change is not only transforming her career but also creating a positive impact within and beyond the workplace.

At Globe, I have found a place that truly nurtures personal and professional growth. Through various training opportunities, mentorship, and collaboration, I have been empowered to thrive in my role and contribute to our broader vision. As an Organizational Development & Change Senior Manager in B2B, my journey has been shaped by my passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and guiding teams through transformation.
When I first joined Globe in 2013 as a vendor employee, I had no idea how much this experience would shape my career. I was part of Project Sweden, one of Globe’s most ambitious business and IT transformation initiatives. Through this project, I discovered my true calling—helping people and organizations navigate change.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned at Globe is the power of empathy.
I realized that this is what I wanted to do: guide individuals and teams through transformation, ensuring that change is not just managed but embraced. Over time, I was given the opportunity to lead the very team I once supported. That moment was a turning point for me, solidifying my passion for organizational development and people engagement.

‘Create Everyday Possibilities’ is more than just a tagline—it’s a mindset that I live by. To me, it means actively seeking growth and improvement, fostering collaboration, and remaining agile in the face of challenges. This perspective drives everything I do at Globe, where I constantly look for ways to innovate and make every situation better.
In my role, I design and implement organizational change initiatives that help employees feel engaged and supported. I firmly believe that when people thrive, they build stronger, more resilient teams, contributing to our collective goal of creating a Globe of Good.
In last year’s HumansOfB2B video, I shared a story about my biggest influence: how my grandparents inspired me to be a better person.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned at Globe is the power of empathy. Initially, I saw my deep emotional sensitivity as a weakness. But through Gallup’s CliftonStrengths, I came to understand that empathy is a strength—it allows me to connect with others in a meaningful way.
Every day at Globe is an opportunity to learn, grow, and take on new challenges that make a meaningful impact.
Embracing empathy has not only helped me become a better leader but also reinforced the customer-centric approach that is essential to Globe’s success. Understanding others’ emotions without being consumed by them has been a transformative experience, shaping how I lead and support my teams.

Beyond my own growth, I find immense fulfillment in helping others develop. One of the key lessons I’ve instilled in my colleagues is the importance of anticipation and strategic thinking. I love seeing my former teams proactively stay ahead of challenges, and it’s rewarding to hear them say, ‘What would Roma do?’ It’s a sign that they are taking ownership of their work and growing in confidence.
My desire to make a difference extends beyond the workplace. In 2019, I led the ISG Social Program, a volunteerism initiative that aligned with Globe’s sustainability pillars. We tackled various social issues, from education to environmental preservation, and mobilized employees to take action. The program raised Php 160,000, distributed thousands of food packs and clothing donations, introduced students to design thinking through educational workshops, and contributed to a 5-year environmental rehabilitation program in Zambales. Seeing my colleagues come together to create meaningful impact was truly inspiring.

In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, I faced one of the biggest challenges of my career: how to keep employees engaged and connected while transitioning back to the office. It was a difficult time for everyone, and my goal was to create strategies that resonated with all employees—those eager to return and those anxious about what the future held.
I firmly believe that when people thrive, they build stronger, more resilient teams, contributing to our collective goal of creating a Globe of Good.
We developed communication strategies, hosted webinars, and supported various teams across Globe who required our communication and engagement expertise. One of my proudest moments was organizing our first hybrid town hall—a BBQ Party on the 21st floor of TGT. Seeing my colleagues reconnect in person after months of remote work was an unforgettable experience. That moment reinforced the power of human connection and the importance of fostering a sense of belonging.
During the lockdown, I was part of the group that won Outstanding Achievement in Volunteerism - Group for Globe Excellence Awards (GEA). On our first face to face GEA after the pandemic, I received Employee of The Year Award for Information Services Group.
Being recognized twice in the GEA is an incredible honor, but for me, these awards are not just personal achievements—they represent the collective hard work and dedication of every Ka-Globe I have worked with. They are a testament to our shared commitment to learning, improving, and finding innovative ways to deliver on our mission.
As I look ahead, I am excited about the limitless possibilities the future holds. Every day at Globe is an opportunity to learn, grow, and take on new challenges that make a meaningful impact. I can’t wait to continue this journey of creating everyday possibilities—both for myself and for those around me.
