#CelebrateYou: A Heartfelt Employee Appreciation Week for Ka-Globe

As the world spins ever faster and the demands of our daily lives grow heavier, it becomes increasingly vital to pause and recognize the tireless dedication that employees bring to the table.

At Globe , we believe that appreciation is not simply a polite gesture; it is a pillar of our company culture, fostering camaraderie and inspiring innovation. This year, we embraced the theme #CelebrateYou during our Employee Appreciation Week in March, a heartfelt nod to the invaluable contributions of our Ka-Globe family.

"The malasakit, kindness, and sense of purpose I see in every corner of this company truly set us apart," Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz wrote in his message.

"Let's take this moment to #CelebrateYou - to celebrate each other. I encourage everyone to show their appreciation to fellow Ka-Globe, fostering a stronger culture of gratitude and recognition."

Leaders’ Personal Thank You Notes to Ka-Globe

The appreciation kicked off with an inspiring gesture from our leadership team. These messages were crafted to reach our Ka-Globe wherever they were—whether on the screens in The Globe Tower, office bulletin boards, in the vibrant hexagon display, and across all Globe stores in the country. Through these visual affirmations, leaders expressed their admiration and gratitude for the hard work that employees contribute daily.

Team Gimmicks of Appreciation

The week teemed with creativity and meaningful interactions as various teams organized their own unique ways to show appreciation.

The Broadband Business team, for example, transformed March 19 into Broadband Appreciation Day. Pausing from their busy schedules, team members exchanged thoughtful appreciation notes while enjoying delicious treats.

At #GlobeAtHome, gratitude is served daily—and with a smile! 💙 Led by Danny Theseira, we shared some love with our awesome teammates through thoughtful thank-you notes, plus a delightful spread of coffee, donuts, and the all-time Filipino fave, turon! ☕🍩🍌  Joanna Panopio, People and Performance Senior Manager, Globe Broadband Business

The air was thick with joy as appreciation notes flew around like confetti, and smiles blossomed all over, making this day a vibrant celebration of teamwork and gratitude.

The Consumer Mobile Business Leadership Team showed their appreciation to the entire group through sweet treats and personal notes, given to each team member.

Vice President and Head of CMB Eric Leif Tanbauco also penned a message to the team, "Maraming salamat, CMB! We recognize all your efforts and we truly appreciate your hard work! Let's continue to support each other. Laban lang!! 🤗"

Meanwhile, personal messages flooded in from Ka-Globe, highlighting authentic connections forged within teams. Some leaders took their appreciation a step further by organizing lunches and breakfasts to honor their team's efforts. Even small gestures of gratitude, such as a pastry token from a team leader or a heartfelt acknowledgment during meetings, resonated powerfully across the organization, proving that in simple acts of appreciation, deeper bonds are formed.

We asked Ka-Globe to share their personal favorite moments during Employee Appreciation Week.

Our division head was able to show appreciation by making sure he said thank you and good job in all the works we have completed plus our monthly meeting was a lunch out.

I treated my team to breakfast since it’s Friday and we are in the Lenten season. We opted for pancakes and coffee. I also sent an appreciation message to my Team in our LMB group chat to express my gratitude for all they do for our customers and their colleagues.

Well, I am happy to share that the appreciation that I got from my colleagues comes randomly and not just during the appreciation week. They are vocal to tell me that they appreciate my leadership and how I guide and help them when needed.

I feel most appreciated having my IS Boss Jerome Malicay. He is truly one of the leaders who always helps and guides me. He gave me confidence in working with my Big Tickets accounts Bicol Medical Hospital and Medical Center and Bicol Newborn Screening Center. Thank you.

Two weeks ago, before ending my last RTO day for the week, my IS approached me and my teammate and saud "O uwi na kayo" while handing our ferrero chocolates and a huge pack of Korean rice crispies. What made this special was the special note attached to the gifts and mine specifically said "Hi Bella. Ferrero ka ba? Kasi mahal ka daw pero sweet. :-) Thank you for taking care of our partners and our agents. Always choc and roll! - Richard G." That was the highlight of my week! During Employee Appreciation Week, I felt most appreciated when my Batch 6 had the most lively and engaged group. We cherished every lunch and merienda break, and our trainer always shared valuable messages with us. I also deeply appreciated our manager’s support during our five-day training at Globe University, especially her dedication to guiding and encouraging newly hired employees.

The gesture that made me feel most appreciated was when our leaders intentionally carved out time from their busy schedules to take us out for both lunch and dinner. It wasn't just a casual meal; it was a deliberate effort to create a relaxed environment where we could destress, connect on a personal level, and check in with each other. They showed genuine interest in our workloads and well-being, both inside and outside of work. The fact that they prioritized our mental health and team cohesion, despite their own demands, truly made me feel valued and seen.

As we reflect on the meaningful moments from our Employee Appreciation Week, it becomes clear that gratitude serves as a powerful catalyst for unity and motivation within our organization. The heartfelt gestures and connections forged during this time exemplify the strong culture of appreciation that defines Globe.

The malasakit, kindness, and sense of purpose in every corner of this company truly set us apart.

We invite Ka-Globe to continue recognizing the efforts of their colleagues in our new internal social platform on Workvivo through a shoutout! Together, let's keep the spirit of appreciation alive all year round!
