My name is Raquel Prado, and I’ve had the privilege of being a Talent Acquisition Manager at Globe since 2022. At Globe, I spend a significant part of my day interacting with colleagues who feel more like family. Over the past three years, this company has become more than just a workplace—it’s my second home.

One of my favorite aspects of my role is meeting people and helping them take a step closer to their dreams. As a Talent Acquisition Manager, I get to interact with applicants, understand their aspirations, and provide opportunities to turn their goals into reality. Helping someone land their dream job at Globe is a source of immense pride for me.

Over my nearly three years with Globe, I’ve grown to adapt, appreciate the culture, and embrace the company’s core values. My role in Talent Acquisition has been particularly fulfilling, as it enables me to bridge the gap between applicants and hiring managers, contributing to the shared goal of reducing unemployment and providing opportunities to jobseekers.

Since taking ownership of University Partnerships, I’ve expanded our network from 5 to 13 network schools, and from 26 campuses to 109 campuses nationwide. These partnerships were strategically identified based on hiring trends and needs, fostering stronger connections between the corporate world and the academe to better prepare students for meaningful careers.

I often reflect on my own journey—once an applicant myself, dreaming of being part of an organization where I could thrive and make a difference. Today, I’m in a position to help others achieve that same dream. It’s a powerful reminder of how meaningful work can transform lives, not only for the individual but also for their families.

Interacting with people from diverse walks of life brings me immense joy. Whether it’s engaging with shop-floor staff or executives, every conversation enriches my understanding and fuels my passion for what I do. It’s this human connection that keeps me inspired daily.
Collaboration is a cornerstone of my work. My team and I often share candidate pipelines, ensuring that each applicant is considered for the best possible role within the organization. This process fosters camaraderie and helps us tap into a shared talent pool to deliver the best outcomes.

Last year, I was greeted with a heartwarming scene in the lobby - an interactive installation of appreciation mirrors and kindness board, where employees can leave inspiring messages and take affirmation notes. It's a reminder of the importance of offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement to colleagues when they need it the most. Here, we prioritize creating a supportive environment for all team members.
I won movie tickets for acknowledging my peers through our recognition bot, Wanda 🪄💝
At Globe, it's not just about work, we have time to enjoy bonding moments with our families and friends. Just over a month ago, I was fortunate to win tickets to the advance screening of Moana 2! So grateful for this mid-week break to unwind and enjoy free screening with snacks and refreshments.

Of course, the journey isn’t without its challenges. Aligning candidates’ aspirations with organizational needs requires effort, especially when they’re unfamiliar with a role’s nuances or unsure of their cultural fit within the company. However, these challenges only motivate me to communicate better, bridge gaps, and make the process rewarding for everyone involved.

As I look to the future, my goal remains the same: to provide more opportunities for talented individuals to join the Globe family. My advice to aspiring candidates? Be yourself. Authenticity, confidence, and a genuine smile can make all the difference during an interview.
