Exciting news as Globe’s pioneering AI innovation competition, PLAI:Offs, approaches its thrilling final stage! With the competition now in its crescendo, the energy is palpable across the organization, fueling anticipation for what promises to be a groundbreaking showcase of employee-driven AI solutions. Let’s dive into how we got here, highlight the finalists, and build up the excitement for the upcoming grand finale!

PLAI:Offs is Globe’s inaugural AI Innovation Challenge—a dynamic, inclusive platform designed to empower employees at all levels to craft real-world, AI-powered solutions to pressing business challenges. Open to every Globe Group team member, regardless of technical expertise, this challenge embraces curiosity, collaboration, and creativity. With a theme centered on AI for Automation in 2025 Season 1, the goal is clear: accelerate AI adoption across the company, foster cross-functional innovation, and upskill teams to leverage AI technology effectively.

The Journey So Far
Kicking off on March 25, 2025 at The Globe Tower, the event marked the start of an intensive, inspiring learning voyage. Participants attended five expert-led workshops that provided essential AI knowledge, tools, and frameworks to develop impactful project proposals addressing real business needs.
"We’ve seen how easy it is for companies to run generic hackathons that look good on paper but fail to spark lasting change. PLAI:Offs was built to break that mold. It’s not about pre-made challenges or third party-led ideas. It’s about empowering our people to identify real opportunities, run real experiments, and build actual AI solutions that move the business forward. Our Ka-OneGlobes don’t just participate, they lead the innovation." - Globe’s Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer & Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio

“PLAI:Offs is a strategic extension of our ongoing mission to democratize AI. It builds on a solid foundation of efforts already in motion at Globe; from rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise access to key teams, making Gemini for Workspace a standard tool for all users, to launching the Artificial Intelligence Guild to foster cross-functional learning and collaboration. Early programs like Pioneer Explorations have already proven the power of enabling teams to solve real business problems with AI. PLAI:Offs takes that same spirit and amplifies it, offering greater visibility, structured enablement, and a wider platform for experimentation. PLAI:Offs isn't about launching a movement, it’s about accelerating one that is already reshaping how we think and work," Anton added.
Following submission, a rigorous evaluation process saw the top 10 teams advance to the semifinal round, where they further refined their prototypes through deep dives into AI techniques and technical workshops. The competition then narrowed these contenders to the top 5 finalists, each showcasing innovative AI solutions in the live finals.
