I’m Anne Calma, Head of Subcultures at Globe. I’ve been with Globe for eight years, and I firmly believe that Globe is a force for good.

Before joining Globe, I was immersed in the world of fashion and retail. My journey with Globe began as part of the Globe Rewards team, where our mission was simple yet profound: to make people happy. I spent five fulfilling years with that team before being tasked last year to move into a new space and build Subcultures into what it is today.
I consider myself incredibly lucky to be in a role where my passion and profession converge.

I’ve always been deeply interested in culture, and creativity is a natural part of who I am. Globe has given me a space where I can bring my diverse hats to the table—be it corporate, commercial, technical, or my creative side as someone who grew up writing and loving fashion. It’s rare to find a work environment that embraces all facets of your personality, but Globe has done just that for me.
Globe empowers my well-being by providing a safe space for creatives like me in a corporate environment. Diversity is celebrated here, and that inclusivity enriches both our workplace and the experiences we offer customers. We can only connect externally if we’ve fostered genuine connections internally.

Globe’s EVP (Employer Value Proposition), "Create Everyday Possibilities" serves as a constant reminder of the power of storytelling. Every customer interaction—whether through an event or online—is an opportunity to contribute to their narrative. It inspires me to look beyond the daily grind, empathize, and reflect on how my work can make an impact, even if I’m just in The Globe Tower.
It’s rare to find a work environment that embraces all facets of your personality, but Globe has done just that for me.
My daily work involves a lot of evangelizing because what I do—championing subcultures—is something new. I advocate for enabling our customers’ passions as a way to engage them, earn their trust, and foster loyalty. Every meeting I attend has two objectives: to contribute and to learn. These mindsets guide me as I explain how customers’ seemingly "just-for-fun" interests, like gaming or music, can be meaningful ways to connect and build lasting relationships.

The challenge lies in defining what subcultures mean for Globe. Sometimes it’s about spotting trends and helping Globe respond sustainably to them. Other times, it’s about co-creating with our customers. For instance, inviting fan base admins like Black Pink PH to co-design experiences like Globe’s Born Pink event.
This approach is new for a corporate setting. Traditionally, companies deliver neatly packaged solutions to customers. In Subcultures, we advocate for collaboration and co-creation—working hand-in-hand with communities to create meaningful experiences.

Every day at Globe is a story worth telling.
Every month, I encounter stories that fuel my passion. One standout moment was awarding a grant to an engineering student passionate about gaming during a convention. Her experience led her to seek an internship at Globe—a testament to the lasting impact of our programs.

Another unforgettable story involved a young drummer from Quezon, a prodigy whose talent went viral on TikTok. We invited her to perform at G Music Fest, giving her the platform to play before an 11,000-strong audience. It was her first public performance, and it opened doors for her future. These moments remind me of the power of providing opportunities and connecting with people.

Globe has given me a space where I can bring my diverse hats to the table—be it corporate, commercial, technical, or my creative side as someone who grew up writing and loving fashion.
What excites me most about Globe’s future is seeing more young people find their place here. Globe is preparing to welcome the next generation—dynamic, creative, and wired differently. We’re creating a workspace that excites and empowers them to thrive in a complex, multi-generational environment.

The leaders at Globe are truly inspirational. They exemplify servant leadership, teaching us to find meaning and purpose in everything we do. It’s not easy to juggle long days, countless meetings, and weekend events, but their example reminds us to put the customer first and approach our work with empathy and impact.
I'll always be thankful for the supportive leaders and colleagues across Globe
To anyone interested in joining Globe: be ready to learn and grow. Globe offers a unique platform that blends creativity with structure, but it demands openness and patience. Most importantly, have the courage to tell your story and contribute to something bigger.
At Globe, my work bridges culture and commerce, mainstream trends and niche passions. It’s about enabling communities and passions through the business of connectivity. And that’s what makes every day at Globe a story worth telling.
