Thriving Through the Storm

When the winds howl and the rains pour, communities in Territory 6 face challenges that go far beyond temporary inconvenience. Typhoons disrupt livelihoods, threaten safety, and challenge daily life.

During my Shadow Board journey, seeing this reality up close brought home the importance of resiliency and preparation. It made me realize that we, as Globe, have the power to help every Filipino not just survive, but thrive, even in the face of storms.

In my almost seven years with Globe, learning programs have always been an opportunity to grow and expand my perspective. Shadow Board gave me the chance to meet and learn from leaders, connect with colleagues beyond my usual circle, and gain firsthand insight into how different territories operate.

Being assigned to a territory outside of my usual responsibilities allowed me to see the culture, collaboration, and best practices in Visayas, reinforcing how diverse approaches strengthen Globe as a whole.

Sustainability has always been a personal advocacy, shaped by Globe’s values since I joined the company. Here, sustainability goes beyond slogans—it is embedded in everything we do, from reducing carbon emissions to delivering inclusive services. This journey reinforced my belief that Globe truly walks the talk and inspired me to think about how we can help communities thrive even when storms strike.

For our Shadow Board capstone project, disaster resiliency became our focus. Together with my teammates Jay, Ruel, and Paolo, we conceptualized the Globe Careline to support Territory 6 communities that are frequently affected by typhoons.

Using the GlobeOne app, we envisioned empowering every Filipino to make informed decisions during disasters.

Imagine a fisherfolk knowing the safest days to fish or a farmer timing their harvest to avoid losses. By turning data into practical solutions across agriculture, fishing, and more, we can help our customers maintain business continuity and navigate life’s uncertainties.

It has always been a dream for Globe to help every Filipino become more digital. Through our on-ground advocacy programs, I have seen how our customers embrace technology when they see its value, whether for livelihood, education, entertainment, or daily life. A trusted brand guiding them makes all the difference. Globe goes beyond marketing communications, extending resources, knowledge, and support to ensure technology truly empowers our customers.

This journey also gave me perspective—learning from different territories, collaborating with leaders, and seeing innovation in action.

I realized that resiliency is not only about technology; it is about empathy, understanding real customer needs, and turning insights into solutions that truly matter.

I hope that our capstone evolves beyond a concept and becomes a real product in partnership with PAGASA, helping communities thrive before, during, and after storms.

Finally, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the HR core team for creating this program, to Globe leaders for their guidance, to our colleagues for their collaboration, to our customers who continue to inspire us, and to Territory 6 for listening to us and letting us learn from their experiences. You are the reason this journey is meaningful.

Like me, you can also grow in Globe. Take that first step by exploring opportunities in Globe. 💙
