On June 6, 2024, our office in Cebu held the Globe Way Awards, recognizing individuals living out their day-to-day according to the Globe Way.
The awarding ceremony was part of People’s Night attended by our Ka-Globe in T6.
The Globe Way Awards is an initiative implemented by several regions last year, including North Luzon, Greater Manila Area, South Luzon, Cebu, and Mindanao. It demonstrates what the values look like in action, proving that the Globe Way is not a grand destination but a path we can forge every day.
Hear from some of the winners of the Globe Way Awards and find out what it’s like to be a culture champion – literally.
Agile Wonder: For Ka-Globe who Move Fast and are Better Everyday
The Agile Wonder awards were given to Rey Lim, Vernon Alde, Ronnel Aliganga, Joel Aragon, Dieno Canlas, Mark Gurrea, Jerry Bondoc, Jemman Fernandez, Ranel Llanos, and Roel Illago.

To be fast and to be better everyday I believe is a core value for us Field engineers. The urgency of restoring services for customers underscores the need for speed.
However, equally important is the commitment to ongoing improvement and learning. Striving to be better every day promotes a culture of excellence and innovation within the team. It encourages engineers to seek out best practices, experiment with new techniques, and collaborate on solutions. This dedication to improvement not only benefits individual engineers but also enhances the overall service and customer satisfaction.
Although it was my name written on the award, I always keep in mind that I did not do it alone. This is a team effort and this award is an achievement of my team. I will be sharing this award with my team and let them know that the work we are doing is recognized and appreciated.
Although it was my name written on the award, I always keep in mind that I did not do it alone.
I firmly believe in taking calculated risks where the potential benefits significantly outweigh the potential downsides. The project we recently undertook was risky, but by careful planning and implementing risk mitigation measures, we were able to minimize the impact of potential negative outcomes.
This experience has taught me that risk is inevitable in our daily operations. Conducting thorough risk assessments and applying effective risk mitigation strategies can significantly mitigate adverse outcomes when challenges arise.
Right now I am still working on Project Mote and AN bypass initiatives. How do I move fast? Preparations are already ongoing even though there is no go signal yet. Anticipation is key.

"We move fast. We are better every day," for me, is synonymous with having an Agile Mindset. This involves focusing on efficiency, continuous improvement, and a proactive approach. As a TSQA, this is demonstrated through regular cadences with different project owners to prioritize tasks and ensure projects and initiatives are delivered on time and effectively.
[Receiving the Agile Wonder award] gives me an affirmation that I am on track with the deliverables that are expected of me. I realized that through collaboration and feedback, I was able to identify areas to improve and areas to focus on and develop.
Currently, I am involved in different projects that will improve the quality of Globe Services Mobile, BB, and B2B. All project owners have clearly identified the objectives of each project; actionable items have tracking with timelines; and a clear communication plan for regular updates has been established. These practices give us control to accomplish project goals efficiently.

[I am] truly honored and grateful to be recognized as someone who has somehow contributed to a much greater cause – providing a wonderful experience to our customers through network solutioning. The approach and mindset remain the same but will strive always to be better and harness much more to sharpen our expertise each day.
I’m currently [part of the] regional team focusing on wireless RAN outdoor solutioning, and ensuring that all required network solutions and assessments pertaining to NSBs and LLDs are provided within SLA is always the top priority. Given the demand of the territory and the national team, the mindset is always to deliver quality work despite the challenges sometimes.

This Globe Value is one of the mantras of RRE. We deliver requirements as fast as we can, keeping up with new trends while being the bridge between the territory and the Engineering.
We understand that our role needs precision and speed to provide designs in the fastest way we can, adapting to new technologies, guidelines, and requirements. Our everyday goal is to remove one deliverable from our corkboard, one paper at a time.
Projects involving designing out-of-the-box and interim solutions challenged me and the team, as they involved a unique and speedy approach. Key learning would be to stick to our principles and always be the bridge between the network and business requirements.
I was surprised to receive such recognition from the tribe. This will serve as a reminder of how well we fought our battles together, and be an inspiration as we move forward in our lives in the territory and as Ka-Globe.

Every day, the territories demand solutions to be delivered fast, so I do my best to keep up together with my team. The faster we deliver the solutions, the faster and the more we become better as a Territory tribe and as individuals.
A key situation where I took action was driving the territory to have a better understanding of the Mobile Quadrant. It was when we first understood the concept of a Stronghold and a Challenger Area, identified them on the map, and validated them on the ground.
Ultimately, it became the framework used by our sales partners in rolling out their sales initiatives where we strike on stronghold areas and exploit the challenger areas of our competitors, which is key in winning back loaders / market share. The learning is that we MUST bridge the gap between the perspective of sales and technical to formulate better strategies to win in the territory.
Collab Whiz: For Ka-Globe who Value People and Together Make the Difference
The Collab Whiz awards were given to Lelanie Rosario, James Jurilla, Tin dela Victoria, Ariel Olayan, and Edwin Fabre.

Very thankful that our leaders appreciate the work. We are used to the "no thank you" role as we are always at the backend. This will definitely fuel the fire to do things better every day.
We all know how important connectivity is, that’s why I make kulit to people who can make it happen for our customers. The only secret is that I have worked with great people who also have the passion to make things happen for our customers.
Customer Champ: For Ka-Globe who Put Customers First
The Customer Champ awards were given to Normand Sellon, Gerome Taborada, Ariel Talingting, and Jose Mercado.

I associate this value with the phrase "At Your Service." I'm happy & willing to resolve or provide solutions NOW – ready to drop everything while putting customer needs of paramount importance. This is what we also practice with our team: we provide timely updates and feedback to our customers, keeping in mind that a client is always at the receiving end of our action.

I'm truly happy with the recognition. It warms my heart to achieve some form of recognition for doing something that I have always been passionate about. I will just continue or even improve on how to serve our customers, either Ka-Globe or external customers.
Currently, I am involved in different projects, may it be CFS projects or outside CFS, but one thing in common is to serve the customers better – less downtime, timely install & visitation.

It has been my mantra to cater to the needs of our customers, may it be internal or external. I make it a point that I would be able to resolve the issue that is handed to me. I never hesitate to share my knowledge and provide guidance especially for our SV partners to be able to provide excellent service to our customers.
Currently, I am taking the lead in providing additional facilities in Chonghua Medical Mall. This is already beyond my area of responsibility as this is from another cluster, but because of the need to provide Broadband to the said establishment and as requested by our OneCebu, I have extended my time and expertise to complete the project, which delighted and provided satisfaction from our customers there.
