The annual Globe Excellence Awards (GEA) puts our purpose at the forefront. 


It has always been a cause for celebration, not only because it is an awards show. It is an avenue for championing the brilliance and dedication that uplifts the lives of every Globe customer. 


Every year, GEA recognizes the Employee of the Year, a Ka-One Globe who strongly demonstrates Globe's core values while delivering excellent business results. Their actions serve as an inspiration and a true model for others to follow. 


Before we meet this year’s Employee of the Year at the GEA ceremony on August 22, 2024, let’s look back at the impact and accomplishments of some of our nominees, as told by the colleagues who nominated them.

Mai Mague

Mai has made significant contributions to Globe as a Learning Business Partner Integrator, overseeing Business Enabling Groups (BEG), Experience Delivery & Transformation Group, Product, and Digital Growth. Her leadership has deepened the team's understanding of Corporate Governance, which is vital for successful M&A and IPO initiatives, while also empowering 17 SMEs within BEG to conduct impactful masterclasses.

Her ability to envision the big picture while managing intricate details has positively impacted both her team and the broader organization.

Mildred Gramonte

Mildred has been instrumental in the success of Globe's Cost Transformation Office (CTO) since its inception in 2023, where she played a key role in coordinating and managing over 200 cost-reduction initiatives. Her efforts contributed significantly to Globe surpassing its cost-saving target, achieving Php 9.2B in savings, well above the original goal of Php 8.2B.


Mildred exemplifies "We Act with Integrity" by ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of savings, even calling out discrepancies when necessary. Her dedication to keeping things simple is evident in the user-friendly templates and dashboards she designed, which streamlined the process for multiple teams. Mildred’s attention to detail and commitment to transparency have been crucial to the organization’s financial success.

Rachell Antiforda-Salang

Manager - Signaling Security

Corporate and Legal Services (CLSG)


As part of CLSG, Aie has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to safeguarding Globe’s network, its subscribers, and the business from a myriad of network attacks, service degradation threats, and other high technological risks. She led her team to increase the number of operations from less than 800 last 2022 to 1,757 deployments protecting subscribers from attacks and threats. This resulted in the protection of 4.75M USD of international revenue – immeasurable protection to Globe’s reputation.


Aie and her team work mostly outside of the office without supervision, showing a level of integrity not just in the context of her work and activities, but also in her interactions with people. It truly shows that she cares like an owner, with her initiative to resolve deployment issues for the benefit of the company and its subscribers.

Sheena Flores

Information Security and Data Privacy (ISDP)


Sheena played a key role in achieving Globe’s security and privacy transformation goals by improving the overall security maturity posture to an industry-leading score of 3.15. She led the "Winterfell" program, enhancing cybersecurity defenses and resilience across portfolio companies (PortCos).


She exemplifies the company's commitment to putting customers first in the strong relationships she built with technical teams and executives across PortCos and Telco, securing the backing needed to implement critical security programs. With an eye for keeping things simple and enhancing response and efficiency, she has improved threat assessment accuracy and revised procedures for faster response times.

Winny Ko-Ong

Internal Controls (ICG)


Wins has made a significant impact to ICG through her exceptional leadership and strategic acumen, spearheading several initiatives like the Adspark Financial Reporting and Governance Review, Improving Vendor Employee Utilization, and Overseeing Internal Audit Team during the external Quality Assurance review. These have all resulted in enhancements of controls, reduced employer-employee relationship risks, and receiving top ratings in international standards.


Wins' spearheading the Adspark Financial Reporting and Governance Review underscores her commitment to ensuring adherence to accounting standards and protecting shareholder interests, showing how she puts customers first as this benefits Globe’s subscribers by ensuring transparency and reliability in financial reporting. Wins' demonstrated ability to lead and resolve issues efficiently, as evidenced in her management of the eQAR and her contributions to the IT Cost Governance review, aligns with Globe's value of “We Move Fast. George Lennard Cordero

Senior Director - Territory Business

Channel Management (CMG)


George Leonard “Jimbo” Cordero demonstrated exceptional leadership in Territory 7 (T7) throughout 2023, overcoming initial challenges to achieve notable results. By concentrating on key towns and fostering inter-team collaboration, he spearheaded initiatives that led to a Php 71M revenue uplift and a 7% target overachievement. His strategic focus on critical areas and operational improvements significantly enhanced network capacity and digital adoption in the territory.


Jimbo embodies "We Care Like An Owner" through his commitment to operational efficiency and digital adoption, ensuring improved profitability and robust future growth. He also exemplifies "We Value People and Together We Make the Difference" by transforming a struggling territory into a high-performing one through effective teamwork and strategic focus. His leadership not only revitalized T7 but also facilitated significant progress in digital services and operational excellence.

Jamille Ng

Jam has made remarkable contributions to Globe's Prepaid Team since joining as an MDP in 2020, quickly emerging as a “rising star” and taking on the role of Strategy and Innovation Pillar leader. Her innovative approach led to the introduction of digital initiatives, including the Globe Rewards+ program and the Prepaid eSIM for Travelers, which significantly boosted Prepaid sales by Php 4.4B over the past two years.


Jam exemplifies the company’s commitment to care like an owner by driving customer-centric innovations which had a significant impact on customer engagement and revenue. Her commitment to “We Value People and Together We Make the Difference” shines through her mentorship, developing high-performing teammates and ensuring smooth transitions during organizational changes. Jam's fearless leadership and innovative drive have significantly boosted business growth and fostered a culture of excellence within her team.

Jayson Dael

Director - Stores Builds and Operations Support

JD has made significant contributions to Retail Store Design & Maintenance, resulting in revenue generation and cost savings for Globe. His leadership in cost-saving initiatives is equally impressive: Project Lokal, which localized maintenance for 200 stores, yielded Php 10.4M in savings in 2023 alone. He also executed the Gen4 store project in Glorietta, reducing construction costs by 66%, from Php 24M to Php 8.2M, demonstrating his exceptional ability to balance innovation with cost efficiency.


JD exemplifies the company's commitment to caring like an owner by transforming his team into a strategic revenue generator while maintaining a relentless focus on cost-conscious leadership. His simplified approach through initiatives like Project Lokal, which reduced repair times from 1-2 weeks to just 1-2 days, demonstrates his ability to keep things simple. By streamlining processes and focusing on core functionalities, JD ensured that Globe's retail experiences are both innovative and efficiently delivered.

Liciel Herrera

Manager - Finance Management

Broadband Business (BB)


Liciel has played a crucial role in Broadband Business by creating a detailed budget model that has effectively managed financial planning, resulting in a revenue achievement of Php 817M. Her commitment to the company's values of “We Value People and Together We Make the Difference” and “We Act with Integrity” is evident through her continuous personal development, which enhances her ability to support the business. 


The robust Budget Model, streamlined BB Approval process, and improved monthly outlook she established have made it simpler to track broadband metrics and approvals. Her work has been instrumental in propelling the business forward and providing clear guidance to the entire Broadband team.

Luke Menor

Product Engineering and Digital Growth (PEDG)


Luke Menor, a customer service leader with over 8 years of experience at Globe, has been instrumental in the growth of the GlobeOne app, which now serves over 15 million customers and generates daily revenue exceeding Php 7M. As the product owner of GlobeOne, Luke's dedication to customer satisfaction has driven significant improvements, including the successful launch of Project Clairvoyance, a platform that proactively detects and resolves issues across critical platforms.


Luke exemplifies “We Put Customers First” by spearheading initiatives like the proactive refund program, which returned Php 12M to customers in 2023, ensuring they receive the service they deserve. His leadership also reflects "We Move Fast. We are Better Everyday" as he implemented measures that improved operational reliability to 99%, significantly enhancing the customer experience. Luke's dedication to continuous improvement and customer advocacy has made a lasting impact on Globe's digital channels and customer relationships.

Mark Binuya

Senior Manager - Sales Squad Head

B2B


Mark has excelled as a channel manager and account manager, eventually becoming a regional head in both regional and CBD settings. His work as Business Solutions Head of the Year brought in Php 431.5M in revenue — a 133% increase — and 148.51% growth from 2022. 


Mark stands out for putting customers first and keeping things simple. He lowered charges on SMS API Additional SSID, focused on resolving issues for high-priority accounts, improved sales processes, and streamlined operations. By prioritizing key tasks, he ensures efficient use of resources, leading to better results with less complexity. Mark’s efforts have greatly benefited both the team and the organization.

PJ San Diego

Manager - Portfolio

Enterprise Data and Strategic Services (EDS)


PJ has been instrumental in driving over 200 projects, leading to a significant Php 21 million increase in average monthly revenues for Globe Prepaid. By rationalizing TM’s freebies and reducing SKUs from 7 to 2, PJ achieved Php 76.6k in savings per EZ deployment, demonstrating a strong commitment to Globe's values of “We Care Like An Owner” and "We Move Fast. We are Better Everyday." 


Managing nine portfolios that generate the bulk of Globe’s commercial revenues, PJ also played a key role in refining the BigBente monetization strategy, closely monitoring price adjustments and customer feedback. This initiative not only added Php 21 million in monthly revenue but also positively impacted the entire organization.

Rowena Manalastas-Roxas

Marketing


Wena, an expert in Lifestyle partnerships, led her team to significant growth as the Lifestyle Portfolio Squad Lead of the Get Entertained Tribe (GET). Under her leadership, Globe customers benefited from over Php 717M in partner perks in 2023, which accounted for half of GET's total business impact. Through strategic partnerships, she also delivered Php 270M in value for GDay 2023, tripling the previous year's figure and solidifying Globe's position as a key player in the Lifestyle sector.


Wena exemplifies “We Value People and Together We Make the Difference” by consistently driving exceptional performance through innovative partnerships that have brought significant value to Globe's customers and partners alike. She also embodies “We Put Customers First,” adeptly managing a complex network of over 100 partners and ensuring that both Globe subscribers and partners benefit from every initiative. Wena's strategic vision and dedication have made a lasting impact on Globe's Lifestyle portfolio, contributing greatly to the organization's success.

Cyril Vince Bana

Senior Manager - Regional OSMCXOffice of Strategy Management and Customer Experience (OSMCX)


Vinz has made a substantial impact as the Overall Program Lead for the Territories, achieving a 6% increase in Total Mobile GSR and a 5% growth in BB Fiber GSR. His leadership exemplifies the core values of “We Care Like an Owner” and “We Value People and Together We Make the Difference.” 


By implementing the 7S Change Management framework, Vinz unified teams across territories, eliminated friction points, and significantly improved collaboration, boosting the RSM Programs Team's collaboration index to 72.13. Additionally, his proactive initiatives in the 2024 Site Vetting project and network optimization efforts led to significant improvements in site builds, LTE expansions, and reduced network congestion, addressing existing challenges and laying a strong foundation for future advancements.

Gian Carlo Andal

Director - Service Management

Information Services (ISG)


Gian's leadership is marked by his deep commitment to customer satisfaction and his mission to deliver the best network experience. As a leader within the Service Management Office (SMO), he spearheaded transformation initiatives that significantly enhanced network stability and customer experience. His efforts resulted in an impressive 98.95% Service Availability on Business Service Levels and a 135% reduction in Total Incident Downtime, solidifying Globe's position as the Brand of Choice.


Gian exemplifies “We Care Like an Owner” through his data-driven approach to decision-making, navigating major issues with a focus on protecting both revenue and customer satisfaction. He also embodies "We Move Fast. We are Better Everyday," as demonstrated by his leadership in the Service Assessment Program, which transitioned the organization from platform-based to service-based service management. This initiative not only mitigated service risks but also established a foundation for operational excellence and efficiency. Gian's strategic thinking and dedication have left a lasting impact on Globe's service management, driving significant improvements across the board.

Kathleen Janelle Muñoz

Network Technical (NTG)


Kathleen led a significant initiative to transform vendor engagement into an outcome-based model through a pilot Comprehensive Strategic Partnership program with Nokia and Huawei, which has already secured approval for a 5-area pilot in 2024. This program is expected to deliver a 5-10% improvement in KPIs, reduce the build cycle by 6-12 months, and potentially increase revenue, all while maintaining zero cost premium.


She cared like an owner by reducing future operational costs and accelerating time-to-market through strategic partnerships.  She has exemplified putting customers first by centralizing technical concerns within ASCEO and implementing a Sites Issues Tracker. Kathleen has ensured improved product delivery and enhanced customer satisfaction, all while maintaining a focus on operational efficiency and long-term value creation.

Ma Fe Gamboa

Network Technical (NTG)


Ma Fe has excelled as an NTG Program Manager, leading her team to surpass expectations and deliver substantial results. She exemplifies the core value of “We Put Customers First” through her successful management of network builds for hyperscalers like Google and Microsoft, generating approximately Php 2B in OTC revenue. 


Additionally, her leadership in the digital transformation of Globe’s transport network with the SDN platform demonstrates her commitment to “We Value People and Together We Make the Difference” by fostering a collaborative environment between technical and business teams,  resulting in reduction of B2B circuit provisioning time by 93% and achieving Php 305M in OPEX savings through Save 2 Grow initiatives. Ma Fe’s strategic vision, collaborative approach, and dedication to both technical excellence and social responsibility have significantly advanced Globe’s objectives and enhanced customer satisfaction.
