How Globe Helped Me Answer a Burning Question

It’s a question many face at some point in their careers: “What do I do next?”

For Chabs Arichea, that question marked the start of something new. From exploring different roles to finally stepping into the Events & Experiences Manager position at Globe, she found not just a space to thrive, but also a culture that empowered her to explore and grow.

Before I joined globe, I was working in the advertising and media industry, mainly focusing on strategy and analysis.

That was my world for a few years. Eventually, I found myself asking, “What do I do next? Where do I go from here? Is marketing really enough for me?”. I was looking for something more, something that would push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me in ways I haven’t explored yet.

Watch Chabs' story of growth and possibility unfold.

That’s when Globe came into the picture. It opened the door to something completely different, something outside my scope. I first started out in the Customer Experience Management Group. My stint in Customer Experience was an eye-opening dive into every single step of the customer journey. Getting to see all the backend processes of how we deliver service really showed me the full picture and contributed to a deeper understanding of operations that totally transformed how I approach things. This has made me much more compassionate in all aspects of experience design.

I never considered events in my career path until Globe gave me the chance to explore this option.

Handling customer experience was a completely different world from my background, and Globe gave me the chance to try something different, and I don’t think I would have had the same opportunities if not for that. In Globe, there was always this openness to explore other fields. In that role, I got to work with so many departments and individuals; it became a chance to learn from different people.

I would not have been able to test myself, to see how far I could go, had it not been for the opportunities that I got from my first role in Globe.

I’m not just an events coordinator. I safeguard the top-quality experience that customers have come to expect from Globe. It’s gratifying and humbling to be given the opportunity to bring different teams together in support of Globe customers.

And it was actually through my role in Customer Experience that I found myself volunteering a lot for the Events & Experiences team. And honestly, I wouldn’t have discovered how much I loved events if Globe weren’t so open to letting us collaborate across departments. What I loved most about my experience was being able to brainstorm ideas and actually seeing them come to life right away. That’s when I feel proudest. So I kept volunteering, and when a role finally opened up in the Events team, I went for it—and I got it.

Working for Globe is no joke, but because I genuinely enjoy what I do, it makes the challenges all the more worth it.

I consider myself really lucky to have found a role that I genuinely enjoy, which finally answered the question of “what is my next step.” Because the truth is, you can go through so many jobs before landing one that feels right – and I finally landed on it with events. Regardless of where my career takes me, finding my dream role is one of my biggest life wins. It was a lightning strike moment for me, a chance opportunity that I can fully attribute to my time in Globe.

Globe will always be the organization that gave me the opportunity to try something new, to be something different.

It’s physically taxing, I admit, but I really found myself thriving in events! It’s exactly the kind of work I realized I enjoy doing.

As an Events & Experiences Manager, my day-to-day revolves around on-ground activations of Globe. I get to work on the fun and creative side of things, which I honestly never thought I would be doing in a corporate setting. My role lets me connect directly with customers and bring them joy, whether it be a concert, media launch, or a four-day brand engagement event – the best part of my job is finding big and small possibilities to make customers happy.

I’ve traveled to more locations around the Philippines in my stint at Globe Events & XP than I have in my entire life. This is not just a job – it’s one of the best learning experiences I’ve had.

Of course, no job is perfect. There will always be hard days. But in those types of moments, I just remind myself: I can do this. I am glad to be surrounded by compassionate leaders and teammates at Globe. They don’t just guide you, they genuinely care for you and make the effort to know who you are as a person, and connect with you as a friend. Aside from being my supervisors and colleagues, I find that they are also people I can just chat with or lean on at work.

At Globe, compassion is something you experience everyday. It’s reflected in the way we treat ourselves, our teammates, and our customers. I truly feel that thoughtfulness in the way Globe supports us. From corporate incentive programs to Ka-Globe exclusives, it’s these thoughtful touches that make a big difference. They remind you that you’re seen, valued, and empowered to bring your best self forward so you can continue to make meaningful things happen everyday.

Support is valuable in a high-pressure job, and thanks to the people I work with, it’s available even when I don’t ask for it. As we like to say, we rise together and we go forward together.

That sense of care and possibility is perfectly reflected in Globe’s employer value proposition (EVP), Create Everyday Possibilities. It’s such a hopeful statement that reminds me to find joy in the little things, to do something meaningful, and to uncover new opportunities, whether at work or in my personal life. It’s that same mindset that gave me the confidence to be creative, and in doing so, I was able to grow in personal ways I didn’t anticipate.

Globe's EVP, "Create Everyday Possibilities" reminds me that ultimately, everyday is a chance to uncover possibilities and do something great.

Moving forward, I’m excited for the innovation and meaningful experiences we’ll continue to bring to the Filipino people as Globe.
