Meet Marc Manalastas, Senior Director from Globe's Product Experience and Digital Growth who left a 16-year job for a chance to serve in a whole new way, facing pandemic hardships but discovering something even greater through Globe’s culture of innovation and camaraderie.

My personal ambition is to make something out of nothing while bringing out the best in people – which in Globe, I get to do every single day. I honestly look at our workplace here as a gateway to everyday possibilities and in doing so, it has given me space to continuously grow.
Before Globe, I was working a different job for 16 years. I'd say I loved what I was doing back then, it was impactful. But then, I yearned for a little bit of change. In January 2020, I moved back from Singapore to the Philippines for Globe in hope of putting my talents and capabilities into serving the Filipino people.
The pandemic, though, gave me quite a challenging and eye-opening start. Three months in and the work from home setup made the adjustment difficult and the learning curve steep. A newbie to the industry paired with a lockdown proved to make my dreams of service a little harder to achieve.
Inspiring Future Leaders: Engaged with student-leaders at the Ayala Young Leaders Conference in Seda Nuvali—igniting conversations on collective action and lasting impact.
At some point at the beginning of my Globe journey, I was watching the news about a student lurking outside a hotel just to have access to the hotel's free Wi-Fi to complete her homework. A small story really, but for some reason I remember being touched and inspired, albeit the difficulties of the pandemic situation, to keep choosing Globe because our work truly had an impact on daily lives, especially then, in our lockdown situation more than ever.
If you’re someone who dreams of making a real, meaningful impact in people’s lives at scale—Globe is where you belong. At Globe, your ideas won’t just sit in a deck—they’ll shape how millions of Filipinos connect, learn, grow, and thrive.
Pandemic Fieldwork Diaries: When face shields and masks were part of the uniform—bringing service and commitment to the field during the height of COVID.
Gratefully, I persevered and through the course of time, I have delightfully discovered what set Globe apart from other companies. One, is its culture - an impressive culture of innovation. There’s always an intentional pursuit to think about something new to solve for people and their digital needs. Two, is the feeling that we are friends on a mission. There is this spirit of camaraderie of everyone supporting and strongly collaborating because we all know we are working towards a common goal.
Snapshots of Co-LOVE-boration and Ac-WIN-ning: Moments across time—from National Sales Conference to on-ground fieldwork—proof that growth happens when we move forward together.
Five years down the line and I can humbly say that I have grown on both a professional and personal level, with a fair balance that I’ve been blessed to find. My day-to-day consistently includes faith, family, and work—my non-negotiables.
It’s a company where passion meets purpose, and where every day you get the chance to build something bigger than yourself. If you're ready to work, live, and even die for something greater—this is it.
In the early morning, I train as a triathlete, a passion I discovered when I joined the Globe Triathlon Team. Then I drop my kids to school, where the travel time becomes a window to catch up and bond over anything under the sun. After that, I start the workday with an 8:30 am team check-in to make space for collaboration, support, and direction. I continue with the day’s work, and end it back home reconnecting with my wife and kids. Then repeat.
Family First, Always: Bringing my kids to school is sacred time—moments of laughter, learning, and love. #DailyDrop on IG is my way of capturing and cherishing these everyday conversations that mean everything.
At the heart of it all is our faith. In our family, we believe that serving God is best lived out by serving others. Every Holy Week, we come together for our annual Family Missions—bringing time, presence, and love to communities that need it most. It keeps us grounded, and it reminds us why we do what we do.
Faith in Action: Serving God by serving others is a cornerstone of our family. Every Holy Week, we go on our annual Family Missions—bringing hope, presence, and love to communities in need. It’s how we stay grounded in purpose.
In between the daily rhythm of work and life, I’ve also found joy and purpose in participating in various engagement initiatives—each one a chance to give back to Globe and to share a bit of myself with others.
Hosting with Heart: From honoring excellence at GEA, to energizing Ka-Globes during our return-to-office Jam, to championing the Working with Cancer Pledge with Ernest’s birthday donation—each stage, a story of service.
I’ve had the privilege of hosting company-wide events that energize, inspire, and bring people together—from igniting excitement in Ka-Globe Jam, to stimulating deep thinking and innovation in the Insights Summit, to celebrating excellence through the Globe Excellence Awards (GEA). I’ve also had the honor of being part of milestone moments—introducing breakthroughs like the AC Mobility Electric Vehicle (EV) Launch, and supporting meaningful causes like the Working with Cancer Pledge with AC Health.
Moving with Purpose: Racing beyond the finish line with the 0917 Tri Team—because
passion and purpose fuel the journey.
Beyond Globe, I’ve extended that passion into the community as well. I was invited as an athlete resource speaker by Holy Angel University to speak to student-athletes about values formation through the lens of sports and academics—hoping to spark inspiration where it matters most: at the beginning of someone’s journey.

Through all these, I’ve experienced firsthand how Globe values us not just as professionals, but as whole individuals—with passions, advocacies, and callings beyond the 9 to 6. It’s a place that gives us the space to balance work with the things that bring us joy and meaning, allowing us to show up as our fullest selves every day.
In the course of all of this, I love that I am able to find joy at work by adding value especially when I am able to help or uplift someone.
Working at Globe isn’t just a job—it’s a platform for continuous discovery, a launchpad for ideas, and a space where purpose meets possibility.
Hosting the Future: Stimulating thought and sparking innovation at the Insights Summit—from 2022 to 2024, a platform of collective brilliance.
Every day presents an opportunity to unlock something new: a solution that uplifts lives, a collaboration that sparks innovation, or a moment that brings out the best in others. Globe empowers me with the trust and freedom to think differently, to challenge the status quo, and to lead with both creativity and empathy. In doing so, I don't just grow as a professional—I grow as a person, living out my ambition to make something out of nothing, while enabling others to do the same.
