Globe Telecom’s dedication to fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) remains unwavering and ongoing. Our recent partnership with the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) showcased a series of inspiring milestones that reinforce our commitment to creating a workplace and community where everyone is empowered to be their authentic selves, every day of the year.
A Landmark Partnership with PFIP
At the heart of our Pride Month celebration was an impactful alliance with PFIP, a vibrant community of industry leaders advocating for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and advancement across the Philippines’ corporate landscape. This collaboration signifies Globe’s proactive role in fostering visibility, respect, and affirmation for the LGBTQIA+ community within and beyond the workplace.

Adding to this momentum, Globe President & CEO Carl Cruz proudly signed the PFIP Pledge of Support, a powerful affirmation of our commitment to cultivating inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplaces for all employees.
Carl Cruz emphasized that:
“At Globe, we embrace intersectionality as the bedrock of our cultural strength. Pride is not a fleeting celebration, but a year-round commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone can truly thrive and go forward together, even as inclusion faces global challenges.”
Ivan Garong, PFIP Corporate Secretary and Board of Trustee stressed the value of this partnership:
“This collaboration marks a meaningful stride toward greater visibility, respect, and affirmation for the LGBTQIA+ community. It reflects how homegrown companies like Globe are not only embracing inclusion but also setting the standard for what it means to create truly equitable and empowering workplaces."
Living and Learning: Highlight Events and Milestones
One of the most inspiring moments was Globe’s hosting of the Trans 101 session at The Globe Tower, an immersive and insightful event that brought nearly 200 attendees together, both from within Globe and outside, united by a shared desire to deepen understanding and support for transgender individuals.
Jessley Bañas opens the “Trans 101” session with PFIP at The Globe Tower. Through stories and lived experiences, the session aimed to build empathy, understanding, and awareness around trans identities in the workplace.
Facilitated by PFIP’s Board Member Weena Ekid and Training Consultant Jessley Bañas, Trans 101 provided participants with a comprehensive exploration of transgender identities, workplace challenges, and best practices for fostering a respectful, inclusive environment. The session was a dynamic mix of interactive discussions, real-world scenarios, and reflective activities aimed at unlearning biases and inspiring tangible actions toward allyship.

“Sessions like Trans 101 are not limited to Pride Month. They demonstrate our commitment to weaving inclusion into how we work, lead, and support one another every day.” - Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz

In addition, the Globe workforce participated in PFIP’s SOGIE 101 and Business of Inclusion training, a training designed to educate employees about sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC). Led by PFIP’s Training Consultant Jessley Bañas, this session equipped our Ka-Globe with the tools to lead conversations, build understanding, and promote a culture of acceptance and respect for LGBTQIA+ individuals in the workplace and beyond.
Participants shared one word they associate with being trans—ranging from “Brave” to “Power” and “Goddess.” The board served as a powerful reminder of the strength, beauty, and diversity within the trans community.
A Culture of Continuous Inclusion
These initiatives exemplify Globe’s ongoing commitment as outlined in our Code of Conduct and DEIB policies, which uphold zero tolerance for discrimination and pledge dignity and respect for every individual. Our efforts extend well beyond Pride Month—they’re embedded into our everyday actions, policies, and culture.

“Inclusion doesn’t happen by default. It’s a continuous process of learning and unlearning, so we take deliberate steps to ensure every person feels respected, heard, and valued,” said Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz.
Moving Forward with Purpose
Our partnership with PFIP and the series of training initiatives demonstrate that Globe is not just committed in words but also in impactful action—creating spaces where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to be their authentic selves.

Join us as we continue to champion diversity, foster understanding, and build a future where authenticity is celebrated, not feared. Because at Globe, inclusion isn’t just a month-long celebration—it’s part of who we are, every day.
