Globe Bowling Team Wins 3rd Place in JZA Cup 2025! 🎳 🎉

Preparing for the JZA Cup

The Globe JZA bowling pool was formed through tryouts and standout performances during the Globe Group Bowling Tournament last April 2025, bringing together the team’s most promising players. From there, preparing for the JZA Cup 2025 became a months-long journey of discipline, practice, and exposure to real competition.

The team trained weekly under Coach Orlean Batistil, a current coach of the Philippine National Team, whose guidance greatly improved both their skills and confidence. To further prepare, members joined the Makati Bowlers Club, where regular tournaments exposed them to a variety of lane conditions and opponents—from casual bowlers to former national team players like six-time World Champion Paeng Nepomuceno. This mix of enthusiasts and professionals in the club gave the team the perfect environment to sharpen their abilities. For those who weren’t used to competing, it was an opportunity to adapt to the pressure, build confidence, and gain valuable experience.

With the support of the HR department and a boost from Sir ELC, the team was able to bring in a great coach, run more training sessions, and most importantly upgrade their gear—from bowling balls and shoes, to bags and wrist supports. All these factors played a key role in strengthening their performance for the tournament.

Competition Highlights

Every game in the JZA Cup was memorable, from reconnecting with friends to celebrating big wins that inspired the team to hold the top spot early in the tournament. The excitement carried into the positioning rounds against BPI and Ayala Land. Despite only securing one win against each, the team performed strongly against tough opponents filled with current and former national players. Their grit, combined with the energy of cheering teammates and friends kept them pushing forward.

Winning 3rd place brought a flood of emotions, “It was a moment of relief that we can finally give back to the company for all the support that we’ve received over the years,” Eileenore Daco said.

For Joshua Pangilinan, it was a gratifying and fulfilling experience “It was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork we put into the competition. It was a proud moment not just for me, but for the entire team and our supporters who never stopped cheering us on”.

What’s Next for Team Globe?

The team’s 3rd place finish is only the beginning. Looking ahead, they hope to join regular tournaments to continue honing their skills and boosting their confidence. With the momentum from this year’s JZA Cup, the Globe Bowling Team is more motivated than ever to train harder, sharpen their skills, and strengthen their chemistry through competitions beyond this one.

They’re also opening doors for growth by inviting interested Ka-Globe to try out for the official Globe JZA Team, in the aims of creating a stronger talent pipeline, uncovering hidden potential, and building an even more competitive team.

More than just maintaining their current performance, the team is set on new heights, with the ultimate goal of contending for the championship in future JZA Cups. Above all, they remain committed to supporting each other’s growth, both individually and as one united Globe team.

Special Shoutouts

The Globe Bowling Team’s journey wouldn’t have been possible without the people who stood behind them every step of the way.

Eilee shared her appreciation for the support that fueled their run.

“I’d like to thank Sir ELC for his valuable support to the bowling team which enabled us to upgrade our arsenals.  To the squad who still came to the practices despite the late nights and for giving their best despite the pressure. Personal shoutout as well to our coach, Orlean Batistil with all his patience, my bosses Mimi Celerio and Mon Pernia and to our HR partners Johann Balmaceda and Geraldine De Leon for their unwavering support and consideration.”

Josh echoed the same gratitude, adding:

“We sincerely thank Globe and Sir ELC for their strong support, especially before his departure. Thanks to our HR partners, Johann Balmaceda and Geraldine De Leon, for taking care of the team’s needs especially during playing dates. To Coach Orlean Batistil, for his guidance and for bringing out the best of each member's abilities.  We’re also grateful to our bosses for allowing us to leave early for practices and competitions.”

On a personal note, Josh added:

“Personally, I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude to my IS Sir CJ Lopez, the Itlogs, and the entire L2A team. A special thank you goes to Ms. Fay Cruz, Head of L2A, for her unwavering encouragement and support. Finally, our heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for their continuous support throughout the JZA tournament.”
