They say the office is for deadlines and deliverables, but at Globe, it’s also where some of the most beautiful “connections” are made. This February, we are celebrating love in all its forms. Whether it’s through the chocolates we’re sharing or the serenades filling the halls, we want to celebrate a love that is constant and versatile.
Nothing embodies “always in all ways” better than the story of Klifford and Phyllis Moleta, Ka-Globe from the Network Technical Group. Their love story started with a little bit of "maldita" energy and a shared passion for sports that turned a workplace rivalry into a lifelong partnership. They’ve shown that when you find your person, you support them always and in all ways.
Feel the "kilig" in the air and hear the story straight from this power couple. ❤️

The Meet-Cute: From "Maldita" to "Athletic Build"
KLIFFORD: Our story really started when Phyllis joined the group as a new hire. I remember seeing her for the first time and thinking, 'Naku, mukhang maldita ito and snobbish.' And honestly? Looking back now that we’re married... I wasn’t wrong! 🤣
PHYLLIS: Excuse me! I was just the new girl being introduced to the team by my IS! But since you’re being honest, when I saw you in the office, I just thought you were one of the guys—though I did notice you had a really nice athletic build. I guess you could say you stood out even then.

The First Move: Winners Pay for Dinner
KLIFFORD: Our story started at work. We were both sports-minded and naturally competitive. We began as rivals in bowling and of course, I always won 😂 but eventually became partners in friendly competitions with our officemates. The rule was simple: the losers would pay for dinner.
Thanks to our strong tandem, we kept winning, and those victories gave us more than just free dinners—they gave us time together.

KLIFFORD: Somewhere between strikes, laughs, and shared moments, we realized how perfectly we jibe. What started as companionship slowly turned into something deeper, more meaningful, and unexpectedly beautiful. I made the first move, because she made me laugh, feel happy, and look forward to every single day.
PHYLLIS: Wait a minute, Kliff! Excuse me, I won the first game! 🤣 But he’s right, our competitive spirits and the sport really connected us. And as a “dalagang Pilipina,” I can confidently say it definitely wasn’t me who made the first move… but I’m glad he did. 😊
The Globe Culture: Partners in the JZA Cup and in Life
KLIFFORD: Globe played a huge role in our love story. Of course, it was also the source of funds for our dates and travels 😄, but more importantly, it gave us the chance to do what we love most: sports and friendly competitions.

KLIFFORD: We started as teammates representing Globe in events like the Ayala Olympics, JZA Cup Badminton, Amazing Race, and more.
Competing together, cheering for each other, and even teasing each other after a loss… those moments made us click in a way that went beyond being workmates. We realized we weren’t just partners in sports, we were partners in life.
Even now that we’re married, we still play mixed doubles for Globe badminton in the JZA Cup. Every match is a reminder of how much fun we have together and how our love continues to grow—inspired by Globe’s culture.
PHYLLIS: It’s true. We went from workmates to friends, then friendly rivals in sports. Eventually, we grew into a couple and partners in the sport we love the most, badminton, and our relationship naturally blossomed into marriage.

PHYLLIS: Globe really values the wellbeing of the employees and promoting sports is one of its programs. Being members of the Globe Badminton Team and as partners for Mixed Doubles in competitions helped us develop trust, patience, and respect for each other. Our relationship naturally blossomed into marriage because we learned how to be a team on and off the court.
The Reality Check: Navigating Network Incidents
KLIFFORD: Of course, it’s not always just fun and games. Working in the same company has its challenges. Work comes with its pressures. The higher we climb, the more responsibilities and deliverables we have. Because we’re both in operations, you can’t exactly schedule outages or network incidents 😅
Sometimes, that means our family plans get derailed, and our time together on weekends or holidays gets eaten up by work. But the good thing is, we both truly understand the nature of each other’s work.

We’ve learned to be patient, knowing that work comes first when the network needs us. And when we do get the chance to be together, we make every moment count.
PHYLLIS: Exactly! One of the challenges is maintaining professionalism while balancing our personal life. But because we share the same field, we understand and respect each other’s roles. Open communication is our key. We support one another 'always and in all ways' without letting the stress of the job affect how we treat each other at home.
The "Kilig" Moments: From "I Do" to Family
PHYLLIS: If you ask me what moment still makes me emotional, it’s definitely that very moment we said our “I Do’s” in front of God. It is a testament of our commitment to stand by each other through ups and downs, in sickness and in health, loving and supporting one another until the end.

KLIFFORD: For me, it was the moment when our only son was born. In that instant, everything changed. We didn’t just become parents, we became a complete family. Seeing him for the first time made all the struggles, sacrifices, and sleepless nights suddenly make sense.
He gave our love a deeper purpose and became our daily motivation to wake up every morning, work harder, and dream bigger, not just for ourselves, but for him.
Every day, we are grateful for the blessing of having a child who completes us and gives meaning to everything we do.
We work hard for our one and only son. Look how tall he is now!
Keeping the Spark Alive
KLIFFORD: To keep that spark alive, we support each other by always being there to listen and cheer. When stress hits, we unwind by playing badminton together, laughing, competing, and simply reconnecting as partners. We also love traveling to new places and creating memories, then sharing savory meals as a family. These simple routines, whether at home or on the court, make our love grow everyday.

PHYLLIS: For us, simply being there as each other’s source of strength is everything . Playing the sport we love the most, badminton, is our ultimate stress reliever. Even during the most challenging games, we talk, strategize, and let our competitive spirits out. That fulfillment we feel after a game? That’s one of the secrets that keeps our relationship fresh and exciting.
To Ka-Globe Looking For “The One”
KLIFFORD: To those still looking for love: find someone who shares your passions, someone who you can laugh with, play with, and just enjoy life with.
Love doesn’t have to be perfect; it’s in the shared adventures, those little moments and choosing each other every single day.

KLIFFORD: For us, it started with teasing and cheering each other in badminton… and now, we’ve gone from badminton champions to real-life couple champions, winning in life and in love every day whether on the court, at home, or wherever life takes us. And you can too!
PHYLLIS: Love comes when you least expect it. Don’t rush and don’t overthink, let it flow naturally.
Enjoy the journey, be yourself and build genuine friendship first. And when it feels right, take the chance.
Who knows? Your love story might already be warming up on the sidelines, waiting for the right moment to enter the game. 😉
