On August 18-19, Globe Telecom celebrated its 2025 Technology and Innovations Summit — Innovania: Cosmic Nexus, a two-day gathering of leaders, innovators, government officials, and industry partners. The summit served as a collaborative forum to explore bold ideas, showcase game-changing technologies, and strengthen partnerships that will shape the country’s digital future.
The event brought together a diverse mix of participants, from government representatives, property developers, and technology partners, alongside online attendees via Zoom. On the ground, guests explored Cosmic Ports or interactive booths from Globe’s core technology partners including Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE, FiberHome, and Huawei among others. These booths showcased breakthrough solutions and immersive experiences that highlighted different technological innovations.
Innovania 2025 featured a strong lineup of thought leaders and changemakers. The speaker list spanned government officials, technology pioneers, and digital innovators, each sharing unique perspectives on building the country’s digital future.

Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz set the tone with a keynote on the critical role of telco infrastructure in driving national progress.
“This event is a testament to our commitment in furthering the digital journey of the country. It is more than just a gathering—it is a platform to celebrate our shared vision and to strengthen the alliances that will drive the future of our nation”.
He emphasized that telco connectivity is the backbone of any nation’s digital economy. With basic connectivity in place, Filipinos gain access to key necessities like education, employment, digital financial inclusion, and safer communities. Cruz added that Globe’s mission goes beyond business, aiming to uplift lives through technology and to drive inclusive economic growth across the country.

Other sessions brought diverse perspectives from leaders such as Cong. Albee Benitez on Bacolod’s intelligent city journey; Ichwan Eka Putra of PT. Senayan Trikarya Sempana on fiber-ready infrastructure; Stuart Wilson of WiredScore on global digital building standards; and See Kiang Koo of dHost Global Inc. on smart property solutions.
In a high-level panel discussion, Cruz was joined by Ernest Cu, Chairman of the Board at Mynt, alongside key government leaders to share insights on digital readiness and the path toward intelligent communities. Their dialogue highlighted how strong public-private partnerships will be essential in shaping the Philippines’ digital future.

One of the most significant milestones of Day 1 was the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Globe and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), represented by Globe President & CEO Carl Cruz and DICT Secretary Henry Aguda.
The agreement reinforced a shared responsibility between the public and private sectors to protect Filipinos in the digital age. At its core, the MOU establishes a collaborative framework for preventing fraud, scams, and other ICT-enabled crimes, promoting digital trust and strengthening cooperation with government agencies to help safeguard citizens from online threats.

Building on the momentum of day 1, day 2 speakers included Fabio Souza of Amdocs, who explored how the convergence of AI, robotics, 5g, generative AI, and digital twins is creating new domains; Danny Yeoh of ZTE, who discussed unleashing the full potential of 5G; and Drake Huang of FiberHome, who shared breakthroughs in fiber and cable development, including fiber sensing technology to enhance network intelligence and reliability.
Across both days, breakout sessions provided participants with opportunities to dive deeper into specialized topics and engage directly with industry experts. These sessions were guided by industry leaders and technology partners, offering practical insights while encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing beyond the main plenary talks.

Alongside the main summit, Globe hosted Innovania 2025: The Builders’ Blueprint – Student Discovery on August 19, a one-day segment held both onsite and online that empowered young innovators from different schools and organizations through collaborative ideathons such as the Cubicore Ideahackaton, and the Goken Zone Ideathon Challenge. The initiative underscored Globe’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of builders through creativity, collaboration, and purpose-driven innovation.
The two-day summit showcased how bold ideas, cross-sector collaboration, and breakthrough technologies can accelerate the Philippines' journey toward a more connected, intelligent, and future-ready nation.
